The Voices of Impact are a choir for people living with memory issues and their caregivers. This group provides entertainment, comfort, support, and a feeling of community for all participants. All are welcome to join Voices of Impact regardless of your singing experience, singing ability, or musical background.

Music is a universal language and very beneficial to those living with memory loss. Singing can improve communication between those with memory loss and their caregivers creating a sense of vitality and positive emotions.

Persons living with memory loss should visit a Voices of Impact rehearsal with their caregiver. The group will be excited to welcome you. Singers will have an opportunity to participate, share stories, support one another, and enjoy a time of socialization with coffee and cookies after rehearsal.

Impact Services’ is determined to help caregivers and their loved one living with memory issues find community and a safe space. With that in mind, the goals of Voices of Impact is a:  Memory Issues Friendly Chorus to provide those living with  memory issues and their caregivers a place to find community and support, as well as provide community understanding of memory issues.

What is Voices of Impact?

A choir established to provide those living with memory concerns and their caregivers a place to find community and support, as well as provide community understanding of memory issues.

Where and When does the group meet?

Voices of Impact meets Mondays from 10:00 to noon at Faith Lutheran Church,  (11115 Hanson Blvd in Coon Rapids, MN)

What are the requirements?

All are welcome regardless of your singing experience or musical background. While music is the reason to bring everyone together, it is not the most important aspect of our existence.  Making music together, sharing stories, supporting each other in hard times, and laughing together are what we are all about.

What is the primary function of the group?

The primary function of the group is to provide an opportunity for those with memory issues to be actively involved in an activity in which they can contribute and feel acceptance for their efforts.  Another function is to provide a support group for the care givers to reinforce the concept that they are not alone.

How do we get involved?

Visit a Voices of Impact rehearsal.  No need to wait for an invitation, just show up at one of their Monday morning rehearsals.  The staff will be excited to welcome you. You will receive a packet of music, an opportunity to sing and laugh during rehearsals, and a time of socialization with coffee and cookies afterwards. If you like what you see and would like to become a member, the staff will help you facilitate that request.
