Stuff…we all have it! At some point, we have to ask ourselves, “What do we do with it?”

For many of our seniors, they have a lot of stuff. They come about it honestly. For some people who lived through the Great Depression, they learned that you didn’t throw anything away because everything had a purpose. That value was instilled in them at a young age, and they hold that dearly still today.

At some point, families do need to talk about What do we do with mom and dad’s stuff?

I think it is important to put yourself in mom and dad’s mind…some of what they have, they have been saving for you. You may not really want it, but do mom and dad a favor. Honor them by taking the item(s). Once they are back at your house, you can do with them what you please. By doing this, you’ve left mom and dad feeling good, and you’re accomplishing your goal of helping your parents de-clutter.
